Drama NSW State Conference – Friday 10 & Saturday 11 May, 9.00am – 5.00pm

In 2019 Drama NSW are challenging its members to consider how we can make important connections through our practice.

We will consider the creative potential of Drama to develop the soft skills needed for an increasingly technologically driven world. We will consider how we can connect our classroom practice to emerging educational research and think about how the skills developed in Drama can enhance learning outcomes across the curriculum. We will also make space to create professional connections between Drama teachers across NSW as well as with industry contacts.

This two-day conference is a terrific opportunity for educators across all sectors of the Drama community to collaborate with each other and share innovative teaching and learning practices. The program is a rich and diverse one, featuring many exciting national and international practitioners. It provides an opportunity for drama educators to reflect on teaching practice and implement new strategies that reflect current best practice.

There will be a range of keynote presentations, as well as workshop presenters, all teachers and industry experts will be leading teachers at the forefront of current practice and expert knowledge, this will include many teachers that have been apart of the NESA marking process for Year 12, as well as Head Drama teachers. The purpose of the conference is to inspire Drama teachers in K-12, and to enrich their teaching practice and provide practical guidance and steps for sessions, targeted at the Syllabus and teaching standards.

There are two days for this State Conference, however, participants may choose to only attend one day and thus would only be accredited for six hours, and 11 hours and 30 minutes over the full two days. Both days will involve keynotes and practical workshop presentations
