There has been a misconception that NAPLAN achievement is about counting – how many or how much rather than how well. However, a closer examination of the criteria demonstrates that having a certain number of techniques may be the requirement of middle bands but will not satisfy the descriptors for upper bands. In these workshops, we will target selected criteria and suggest ways of extending students for each criterion under examination. A worksheet of activities which are readily transferable to the classroom will be provided at each webinar. This course will be addressed to English teachers but is also suitable for upper primary teachers.

To achieve accreditation for this course, teachers must complete a 100 –150-word reflection on the extent to which each session was helpful to their practice and why.
