Reimagining PE – Epping

Our Reimagining Physical Education workshop series will support teachers and faculties to:

• Review current practices
• Explore innovative ways of presenting learning
• Reinvigorate programs and increase engagement for all students.

Co-designed by practicing PDHPE teachers and experts in physical education pedagogy, the workshops are evidence-based and informed by real-school experience.

There will be two workshops in the Reimagining Physical Education series:

• Workshop 1 (this session) – Innovating in PE
• Workshop 2 – The power of questioning and observation in delivering and assessing quality PE programs. Available in mid-2022.

About Workshop 1: Innovating in PE
This full-day workshop will guide you through translating the syllabus requirements for physical education into innovative programs. The workshop covers:

• unpacking and interpreting the movement-based outcomes
• exploring what student achievement can look like in each Stage
• translating movement content into engaging lessons that challenge all students
• exploring the propositions and how they can inform our PE programs
• collaborative review of current scope and sequences
• content mapping and auditing units of work to identify any gaps in coverage
• modelling a process for critiquing current practices

Who should attend?
This workshop will suit both new and experienced primary or secondary teachers.

This is a face-to-face interactive workshop that will proceed under Covid safe plans.

Accreditation
Completing Reimagining PE Workshop 1: Innovating in PE after 4 February 2022 under NESA’s interim arrangements will contribute 5 hours of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptors 1.5.2, 3.1.2, 3.3.2, 5.1.2, 5.2.2, 5.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
