HSC Mathematics – Advanced

Tuesdays: 19 and 26 May, 8.30am – 3.45pm

This course will cover the curriculum content of the new Stage 6 HSC Mathematics Advanced Syllabus and is intended for teachers who have not previously taught HSC Mathematics Advanced or are seeking a refresher. Participants will familiarise themselves with the content as well as developing effective techniques for introducing the material into their classroom. The content will be divided into 5 sessions spread over 2 days:

• Session 1 – Functions (F1, F2, Using Geogebra for Graphing including Polynomial Function, Sliders, Transformation of Functions investigation etc.)
• Session 2 – Trigonometric and Exponential Functions and Logarithms (T1, T2, T3, E1)
• Session 3 – Calculus (C1, C2, C3, C4)
• Session 4 – Statistics and Probability (S1, S2, S3)
• Session 5 – Financial Mathematics and Series (M1, Investigations into Annuities and Loans using Excel and other technology)
