The GTA Webinar: Natural Disasters will be presented by Tony Jarret who is a Community Engagement Coordinator with the NSW Rural Fire Service. This webinar will demonstrate opportunities to enhance the teaching of the Geography Curriculum in relation to natural hazards in Stages 3, 4, 5 and 6 through Disaster Resilience Education (DRE) resources and programs, and interactions with the volunteers and staff of NSW Emergency Services organisations.

Further, the webinar will explain how to adjust Geography assessment tasks for students to meet specific learning needs. Participants required to engage in question and answer sessions during the webinar. Also, will be monitoring by doing a poll randomly and at conclusion.

The webinar will also provide examples where the content can be applied to teaching and learning activities. In participating in this webinar teachers will use the information gained on natural hazards, especially the most recent natural hazards during summer 2020, to update their knowledge and apply it to their teaching practice to improve teaching and learning outcomes for their students and engage students
