Guest speaker: Vivian Pham, a former Extension 2 student; featured in the 2018 Young Writer’s Showcase will share insights about writing, research and will discuss the successful reception of her novel.

Vivian is a fiction writer, part-time poet, aspiring folklorist and university student. The Coconut Children is her debut novel which has received wide acclaim. Managing your Major Work – Belinda Nunn

Section 1: Overview of the Course Requirements and purpose with a focus on the Major Work, Reflection Statement and Journal (25 minutes).

Section 2: The Investigating Stage including developing the concepts, examples of the concepts, moving from the concept to the Inquiry Question (40 minutes – can be viewed as 2 parts).

Section 3: Structuring the course including the Viva, Literature Review and Critique. Time management including an action plan with milestones for each stage of the composition process (25mins).
