Once you register for the course you will be emailed a link to the online course a few days prior to the commencement date. You do not require any special technology, just an internet connection and speakers.

This course has been designed to support teachers’ understanding of statistics in the New NSW Stage 6 Syllabus.

By the end of the course you should be able to…

  • Understand data classifications
  • Understand and define different sampling techniques
  • Understand measures of central tendency and define different averages
  • Understand spread of distributions and define different measures of dispersion
  • Understand outliers and their effect on summary statistics
  • Understand how to use technology to calculate and display summary statistics

This is an online course that can be accessed online anytime. Complete the modules when it is convenient for you. Participate in the online community. Share you thoughts and see the thoughts of others.

There are six modules to this course: Classifying and Sampling DataMeasures of Central TendencyMeasures of DispersionDistribution Outliers and SkewSummary Statistics using TechnologyDistribution Graphs.

This three-hour course has been designed for you to complete in one sitting or in multiple sittings. Complete some of the course now and come back later and pick up from where you left off. There is a course completion tracker that shows how much of the course you have completed and how much you still have to go.
