NSW Minister for Education ‘Association of the Year Award’

The NSW Minister for Education Association of the Year Award is presented to an association for the distinction of achieving all‑round excellence as a professional teaching association.

*For the Associations of the Year Award, a selection committee will review all submissions and will base their selection on the information provided.

This award will be presented by the Professional Teachers Council of New South Wales (PTC NSW).

Nominations close 5:00pm Monday 13th October 2025.

The recipient of the award for 2025 will be presented with their award at the PTC NSW Awards Evening on 25 February 2026.

NSW Minister for Education ‘Association of the Year Award’ Honour Board

2025 NSW Minister for Education Association of the Year Award Nomination Form

In 2018, The Professional Teachers’ Council (PTC) NSW in conjunction with the Minister for Education, introduced this prestigious award recognising an association that has distinguished itself by achieving all-round excellence.

To be eligible for consideration the nominating association MUST:

  • Be a financial member association of PTC NSW. (Those who have paid the PTC NSW Membership Subscription fees for the current calendar year).
  • Nomination must be submitted online.
  • Signed by the association’s current President as Nominator 1 and another current Executive member of the Board/ Committee/ Council a Nominator 2.
  • Received by the closing date 13th October 2025.

Please note:

  • This award is in recognition of an association and not an individual
  • Incomplete nominations, and those nominations received/sent after the due date will not be considered by the PTC NSW Awards Committee.
  • Joint nomination of two associations for one award will not be considered.
  • The decision of the awards committee will be final.
  • The awards committee may request evidence to support the statements made in this nomination. Failure to provide evidence may result in the association’s disqualification for the award.
  • Member associations that have received this award in the last two calendar years are not eligible for nomination.

The winner will be announced at the PTC NSW Awards Evening on 25 February 2026.

Criteria

These questions are designed to assist each association to complete their nominations as well provide a list of relevant governance imperatives to ensure all associations are aware of regulatory requirements and best practice.
Name*
Outline the relationship between your Mission and Vision statements and how your association applies them. (maximum 500 words)
Describe and comment on the appropriateness and effectiveness of the association’s governance structure, constitution, risk identification and management, Directors safe guards around confidentiality, code of conduct and conflict of interest policies and procedures. Demonstrate your association’s financial management, commenting on: transparency, systems and practices, performance and goals. (maximum 500 words)
Outline areas including succession planning, board committee engagement, volunteer and or staff roles and policies, culture and leadership opportunities.(maximum 500 words)
Describe your success, goals, achievements and innovations in the areas of: membership, member services, professional learning opportunities, key messages, evaluations, stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Outline the intention, marketing, integration, member and stakeholder engagement, planning and strategy related to mission, vision and values. (maximum 500 words)
Discuss the application of technologies including their impact on members and the association’s ability to provide high quality services (and products). (maximum 500 words)
Summative statement on the overall relevance, significance and value of the work of your Association. (maximum 800 words)
