This workshop will meet the needs of any teachers who are yet to teach the Stage 6 course. You will walk away with information and skills to be able to design and deliver the Stage 6 CAFS course.

The workshop will be presented as a hybrid workshop.  Face to face delivery at NSW Teachers Federation, Surry Hills and also via LIVE Video Conference (via Zoom).

The workshop will unpack the syllabus for you, address teachers concerns around programming, resources and assessment.

  • Currently teaching Stage 6 CAFS for the first time
  • Teaching Stage 6 CAFS in 2022 for the first time
  • Hope to teach Stage 6 CAFS in the near future for the first time

Professional Teaching Standards

1.5.2 Develop teaching activities that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities

2.2.2 Organise content into coherent, well sequenced learning and teaching programs

2.3.2 Design and implement learning and teaching programs using knowledge of the curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements

3.2.2 Plan and implement well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning

Completing Teaching Stage 6 CAFS for the 1st Time on 22 November 2021 under NESA’s interim arrangements will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum addressing standard descriptors 1.5.2, 2.2.2, 2.3.2, 3.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
