Session 1: Stage 6 Literacy Strategies

This session will focus on the implementation of literacy strategies, targetted at Stage 6 students. Teachers will be introduced to the teaching and learning cycle and will be given a number of resources that can be used to facilitate the integration of literacy strategies to enhance student writing. Resources include work sample analysis, paragraph scaffolds and marking criteria annotations.

Session 2: Stage 4 and 5 Literacy Strategies

This session will look at effective backward mapping and programming for Dance specifically in Stages 5 and 6. This session will complement Session 1 and will help teachers with implementing the teaching and learning cycle into their lessons and units. Participants will be given practical and theoretical tasks to improve and develop students’ writing skills across stages. The first half will be in lecture format and the second half will give time for questions along with personal planning time.
