Dr Paul Swan is the opening keynote speaker. Reasoning – the “glue that holds everything together” Kilpatrick et al (2001: 129) speak of Reasoning as the glue that holds the curriculum together.

In this keynote Paul will use examples from the different content areas and different Year levels and will illustrate the key features of Reasoning Proficiency that glue the curriculum together. He will also address the arguments that we don’t have enough time for reasoning and that reasoning is only for the smart students.

Paul writes Mathematics related books and develops maths games. He works with teachers and school leaders to improve the teaching of mathematics.
