Wednesdays 13, 20, 27 May and 3, 10 June 2020
This course will cover the curriculum content of the new Stage 6 HSC Mathematics Extension 1 Syllabus and is intended for teachers who have experience teaching Advanced/ 2-Unit but who have not previously taught HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or are seeking a refresher. Participants will familiarise themselves with the content as well as developing effective techniques for introducing the material into their classroom. The content will be divided into 5 x 2.5 hr evening sessions:
Session 1 – Combinatorics, Proof and Polynomials (A1, P1, F1.2 and F2)
Session 2 – Functions and Trigonometric Functions (F1, T1, T2, T3 + some New Mathematics Advanced concepts)
Session 3 – Calculus (C1, C2, C3)
Session 4 – Vectors (V1)
Session 5 – Statistics (S1, as well as New Advanced Course MA-S1, S2.1and S3)
