The Assignments and Investigations in Secondary Mathematics online workshop will provide teachers with an understanding of different forms of assessment that can be easily implemented in any classroom.

Provided in this workshop will be activities that are ready to use in the classroom.

This 2-hour online course will explore the key elements of setting delivering and marking assignment and investigation task.

The course will consist of 3 parts:

  • Session 1 (60 minutes) – online looking at creating assignments and investigation tasks and what works best.
  • In between sessions (30 minutes) – individual work where they create a skeleton of a task and get feedback from at least one other participants.
  • Session 2 (30 minutes) – looking at different forms of marking rubrics (2 weeks after session 1)

During this workshop participants will:

  • familiarise themselves and with different assessment techniques and investigations in mathematics
  • create different assessment items
  • give and receive feedback on their assessment item
  • familiarise themselves with and create marking rubrics.
