Tuesdays – 26 May and 2, 9, 16, 23 June 2020
This course will cover the curriculum content of the new Stage 6 HSC Mathematics Advanced Syllabus and is intended for teachers who have not previously taught HSC Mathematics Advanced or are seeking a refresher. Participants will familiarise themselves with the content as well as developing effective techniques for introducing the material into their classroom.
The content will be divided into 5 x 2.5 hour evening sessions:
Session 1 – Functions (F1, F2, including using technology for graphing)
Session 2 – Statistics and Probability (S1, S2, S3)
Session 3 – Trigonometric and Exponential Functions and Logarithms (T1, T2, T3, E1)
Session 4 – Calculus (C1, C2, C3, C4)
Session 5 – Financial Mathematics and Series (M1, Investigations into Annuities and Loans using Excel and other technology)
