There are four main purposes for this conference day:
i) to support regional teachers in their implementation of the new NSW History Syllabus 7-10;
ii) to support teachers in their delivery of the senior history courses – Modern, Ancient;
iii) to provide opportunities for teachers to engage with colleagues and subject specialists to broaden their knowledge and improve their practice;
iv) to build capacity for professional learning within the regions by modelling quality presentations, providing opportunities for local teachers to present and receive feedback on their presentations, and by encouraging local teachers to establish networks to support further professional learning within their region.

The day has been designed to allow teachers to select sessions that best meet their interests and needs in relation to the pedagogy underpinning the new syllabus, teaching and learning strategies and resources, print and digital, related to new syllabus content including programming. This day will also include sessions on the new senior History syllabuses.
