Why do we predominantly use someone else’s local area for our case studies?

How often do you use your school’s or your students’ local areas as the focus of your case studies?

A closer examination of one’s local area builds geographical relevance, hopefully inspires interest in an SGP of active geographical citizenship and could boost student numbers. This approach may shift bookish Google based research into the realm of deeper geographical understanding, but it needs to be started before Year 11.

This webinar will draw on a range of secondary and primary resources for a selection of ‘local’ areas.
