ILF VIRTUAL EVENTS:

Indigenous Literacy Day – YouTube Live Premiere, 12.30pm

Join our virtual YouTube Live Premiere celebration of Indigenous language and literacy.  This inspiring event is a window into our work, the the joy of books and reading, and explores the value of language. Help us celebrate with a delightful book reading in a first language, and a heart-warming song by ILF Ambassador, Jessica Mauboy.

Primary and Early Learners: Indigenous Literacy Day, 2pm

Join us for a special 30-minute virtual celebration of Indigenous language and literacy to engage, inspire and delight preschool to primary students.

It’s a time to move, shake and dance with a book reading by Cheryl Lardy in Kriol and in English by Justine Clarke (Play School), with a catchy melody sung by Australia’s favourite pop star, Jessica Mauboy. Hosted by Indigenous author and performer Gregg Dreise, this event will be launched on our YouTube channel at 2pm on the day to enjoy. Children are encouraged to donate a gold coin on the day of viewing. Funds go towards the purchase of books and learning resources for children in remote communities

Get ready for both events by subscribing to our Youtube Channel, and stay up to date with our Indigenous Literacy Day celebrations on FacebookInstagramTwitterLinkedIn or visit our website.
