2019 WriteOn Competition

WriteOn is an annual writing competition open to all NSW primary students in Years 1 to 6. Students are encouraged to create an imaginative text in response to this year’s stimulus image.

The image can be used as a whole-class teaching activity or as an individual project. Through participating in the competition, students are engaged in authentic writing experiences which can be linked to the outcomes of the NSW English K–6 Syllabus.

WriteOn provides students with the opportunity to become published authors. Outstanding entries from the 2018 competition have been published in the Best of WriteOn 2018 anthology.

Gold, silver and bronze award winners will have their work published in the 2019 WriteOn anthology.

How to enter, competition guidelines and a downloadable competition poster – Entries close on Friday 5 July 2019

WriteOn 2019 is held in association with the State Library of NSW. The presentation ceremony will be held at the library on Friday 23 August 2019.
