What do Richard Wagner, the lost city of Atlantis, and shovels have in common? They were all foundational in the creation of Nazi Ideology.

This session will provide critical foundations for those teaching Power and Authority in the Modern World by extrapolating the complex intellectual history of the ideas central to the NSDAP.

By demonstrating the varied origins of Nazi ideas as well key thinkers involved the shaping of the ideology, this session will explain exactly where the Nazi ideology came from and how key ideas spread within the party hierarchy.

This complex intellectual history is not only critical in comprehending the formulation of core Nazi Ideology, but it is also crucial in understanding the ideological subtext of primary source materials that students may encounter in the HSC exam.
