Background
The KDC Built Environment Challenge is open to Stage
2 class groups.
Stage 2 is a time at which students are beginning to work in contexts
beyond their personal experiences. The Challenge encourages students
to work beyond the school, to identify the needs and wants of a
variety of people and groups within the local community. Students
participate in real-world activities and interact with community
organisations and industry experts.
The Challenge provides a rare opportunity for Stage 2 students
to participate in activities that highlight and promote their achievements
beyond the school.
Through participating in the KDC Built Environment Challenge
students will develop:
- knowledge and understanding in the Built environments content
strand
- skills in the learning processes of Investigating, Designing
and making and Using technology.
The challenge has a strong designing and making emphasis.
