A Web 2.0 toolbox for literacy
Friday 27 January, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Venue: Mt Riverview Public School,
Rusden Road, Mount Riverview, NSW
Web 2.0 tools allow students to produce creative, digital artefacts such as blogs, wikis, animations, digital storybooks, avatars (speaking characters), cartoons, concept maps, voice recording and online posters. Learn how to incorporate these and other Web 2.0 applications into your literacy program to enhance teaching and learning. Participants will: Explore a range of Web 2.0 technologies that can be used across all aspects of the English Curriculum (e.g. Voki, ToonDoo, Go Animate and Wordle); Learn how to organise online resources using ´cloud computing’, so teachers can access these Web 2.0 tools anywhere, anytime (in lieu of using Favourites or Bookmarks to organise websites); Plan how to integrate these Web 2.0 tools into literacy lessons.
