Approaches to Playbuilding – Secondary Teachers Professional Development Day

Using movement and improvisation as the core ingredients this workshop will explore a variety of approaches to devising. Participants will play with techniques that can be confidently taken back to the classroom and used to assist their students to create dynamic drama performances. The presenter, Wendy Buswell is an experienced Drama educator who has been employed in both Australian and International schools. Her career has spanned many facets of education from developing curriculum resources, coordinating drama camps and festivals, marking HSC (Written and Performance) to classroom teaching. Outside the education system she has worked as a director, dramaturge and theatre critic. She has a passionate belief in the importance of the arts within our culture and in particular inside our educational institutions. She has recently begun work as Manager National Shorts at NIDA and is completing a MA thesis on using Viewpoints training with rugby union teams.
