2008 Media Awards - Call for nominations
Nominations are currently being sought for the 2008 Media Awards
The closing date for nominations is Friday 17 October 2008
The Professional Teachers’ Council NSW annual Media Awards are presented to people working in the media industry for their positive portrayal of the work of teachers and schools during the period 15 October 2007 – 14 October 2008.
These awards are presented annually under the following categories:
• The Professional Teachers’ Council NSW Media Award
• The Professional Teachers’ Council NSW Regional Media Award
The focus of the Media Awards is on the value of teaching and learning. An application for either category should clearly demonstrate how the nominee has contributed positively to changing the public’s perception of the significance of teaching as well as identifying the value to the community of teaching as a profession.
Nominations can be made by:
• a member association of the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW
• a school or school community, parent organisation
• an individual
• self nomination
• media organisations
• other education organisations
Nominations should be completed on the Media Award Guide and form 08 provided . Each nomination is to be accompanied by a copy of the material, which supports the nomination.
